Hunting T-34s with flamethrower, Panzerschreck, and Hafthohlladung.
Clobbering and repairing King Tigers.
Having my eyebrows removed by Flammpanzer 38s.
And battling through blasted suburbs, bolt-action rifle in hand.
…but Blood on the Danube has the momentum of a hurtling bobsleigh.
While it doesn’t introduce any fresh mission types (every scrap is still a high-intensity affair with capturable VLs and depleting force pools) the host of new maps, weaponry and uniforms, injects plenty of novelty.
I’m looking forward to encountering curios like the 44M kézi rakétavető and Vampir ZG-1229 night vision scope, and fighting through the heart of the Hungarian capital. Marco usually manages to make campaign climaxes especially memorable, and I’d be surprised if any of Blood on the Danube’s trio of mission sequences ended with a whimper.
