Unlike the formidable Friday foxers, the Monday kind are designed with lone truth sleuths in mind. While Roman, my Chief Foxer Setter, would be very interested to know how long it takes you to defox the following brainteaser, he requests that the comments section isn’t used to share solutions or drop hints.
“Where am I?”
Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View (all Solo Foxer solutions are Street Viewable), MAPfrappe, and other online tools, work out my location. The answer will appear under next Monday’s solo foxer.
Today, I’m standing next to something that sports broad green and white stripes. According to non-English text on a nearby sign, this thing shouldn’t be used when its raining due to the risk of slipping. The country you’re looking for has never hosted a solo foxer before, has twelve crowns on its national coat of arms, and a prime minister who has been in office for less than two months. The nearest capital city is in a foreign country. The nearest cars are electrically-powered two-seaters. You’ll find a stylised picture of a Milvus milvus on the Wikipedia page of the closest town. That town’s railway station is just over three kilometres from my location. Talking of railways, I’m about 450 metres from a line today only traversed by rail-bikes.
You’re probably in the right place if you can see…
- One goat
- Six pigs
- Two cows
- One sheep
- Cacti
- Lavender
- A lawnmower
- No cars
- The word ‘PLAY’
I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.
(On Christmas Eve I was here)
Excellent, thanks for the challenge!
I must say this is also an useful tool, albeit a bit clunky to use: https://www.mapdevelopers.com/draw-circle-tool.php
Thank you! That was my first one. I wasn’t keeping track, but it was more than an hour but probably not 90 minutes. It was quite a tour looking around, now I’d like to visit!
