Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today I’m at the end of a road. The name of the road might make you think of the Isle of Dogs. 7.75 kilometres from a British-built four-engined bomber, about a mile from a suburb named after a Syrian tourist attraction, and a stone’s throw from a river with an avian moniker, I’m in a city that unsurprisingly has a sister city in Scotland. The country you are searching for lost its last women’s rugby union international by a sizeable margin, and has three birds on its coat of arms. Within 600 metres of two different golf courses, I’m closer to a veterinary clinic than I am to a church.

You are probably in the right place if you can see…

  • Masts
  • Boulders
  • Block paving
  • Expensive homes
  • A safety chain
  • Lightening holes
  • A green wheelie bin with a red lid
  • An incongruous European bee-eater
  • The words ‘DOGS PROHIBITED’
  • The words ‘BRIAN JAMES TRAILERS’
  • The words ‘GLYPHOSPHATE BEING APPLIED’
  • The words ‘SERIOUS INJURY’
  • The words ‘RIVER FORESHORE VEGETATION’

(Last week I was here)
