Every Friday at 1300 hours, Tally-Ho Corner’s cleverest clogs come together to solve a ‘foxer’ handcrafted by my sadistic chum and colleague, Roman. A complete ‘defoxing’ sometimes takes several days and usually involves the little grey cells of many readers. Don’t be shy. All are welcome to participate.
To fully defox the following geofoxer, identify all twelve locations plus the theme that links them.

H) Langham Street, London (link to Google maps), looking at Broadcasting House/All Souls.
I thought J was Withernsea, but the lighthouse in the middle of the street there is clearly octagonal. Confusing.
Aha – Chester Road in Southwold https://goo.gl/maps/Z9xoNfUwtU19M57q8
A0 – the corner of Dean St and Old Compton St in London (https://www.google.com/maps/@51.5129932,-0.132052,3a,75y,146.11h,96.53t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1spUeuu8YsEuMlrJeykmTnBw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192)
F. Coronation St, Goole

To be more accurate, the location is here on Stanhope St, https://www.google.com/maps/@53.7032799,-0.8756574,3a,75y,263.69h,79.32t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sb-hQS32TKNDAQ4dsYZq8kA!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

It’s this water tower:
http://www.engineering-timelines.com/scripts/engineeringItem.asp?id=507
K) – Revolution Tower in Panama City – https://www.google.com/maps/@8.9837629,-79.5177465,3a,75y,213.09h,112.18t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sAF1QipOoCDD4CuXPnGhbT3WfHHlsZ7TTgrbODBYkMeWV!2e10!7i7680!8i3840
Now known as the F&F Tower, in case that is important.
Ah moderation, I forgot the “don’t edit a second link” rule
E – Palazzo della Civilta Italiano, Rome

That’s G) because i just looked it up too :P.
g’s and e’s are very similar aren’t they (embarrassed look emoji).
They are when my smallcousin writes them, because his gs tend to come out backwards 😀
D: Looks like Chailey Moat, but there isn’t Google Maps there :p.
Groombridge Place, Kent: (link to Google Maps)
I) Looks like Lisbon but Lisbon is a city with plenty of pretty overlook points.
It’s a view from the Guinigi Tower in Lucca (https://www.google.com/maps/@43.8437265,10.506974,3a,75y,134.53h,83.68t/data=!3m8!1e1!3m6!1sAF1QipPH_pr5P_-Cx7GhBFLFtDJmjXAYW7Sw9iSivTMD!2e10!3e11!6shttps:%2F%2Flh5.googleusercontent.com%2Fp%2FAF1QipPH_pr5P_-Cx7GhBFLFtDJmjXAYW7Sw9iSivTMD%3Dw203-h100-k-no-pi-0-ya81.67807-ro-0-fo100!7i8704!8i4352). Greenaway made a film called Lucca Mortis.
B: IL PARADISO painting by Tintoretto, Chamber of the Great Council, Doge’s Palace, Venice, Italy, Europe
It’s weird when you recognise a piece of art, but you can’t remember where you saw it… (I knew it was a massive room somewhere!)
Southwold Lighthouse (J) and Groombridge Place (G) have both featured in Peter Greenaway films (Drowning by Numbers and The Draughtsman’s Contract respectively)
He also has a short film called Revolution (K)
I think you’ve got it – C) is Guanajuato, Mexico (link to Google Maps)
And E) is Mâcon, France: link to Google Maps
G is Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana which features in The Belly of an Architect (1987) by Peter Greenaway
but otherwise I think you are correct
(Groombridge place is D).
Is H then the now defaced Eric Gill mural of Prospero and Ariel => Propero’s Books ?
H is indeed Prospero and Ariel.
And he did an earlier short called Goole By Numbers
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0074582/
Perhaps the theme could be cities that were burned in the 17th century? Panama burned in 1671 when Henry Morgan sacked it. Southwold burned in 1659. London, 1666. Doesn’t really work for Rome or Goole, though.
L) – the statue of Rembrandt’s The Night Watch in Amsterdam – Peter Greenaway did a video installation about it in the Rijksmuseum.
State of play – need a link to Peter Greenaway for A and maybe a better one for B
A) Junction of Old Compton St and Dean St in Soho – ???
B) IL PARADISO painting by Tintoretto – this is in Venice, Peter Greenaway has exhibited at the Venice Biennial (not sure about this – there may be a better link)
C) Guanajuato, Mexico – Eisenstein in Guanajuato
D) Groombridge Place – Draughtman’s Contract filmed here
E) Mâcon – The Baby of Mâcon
F) Goole – Goole By Numbers
G) Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana – features in The Belly of an Architect
H) Statue of Propsero & Arial on Broadcasting House – Prospero’s Books
I) Lucca – Lucca Mortis
J) Southwold Lighthouse – features in Drowning by Numbers
K) Revolution Tower, Panama City – short film called Revolution
L) The Night’s Watch statue in Amsterdam – video installation about the painting in the Rijksmuseum
He did an exhibition called “Luper at Compton Verney” https://www.comptonverney.org.uk/event/peter-greenaway-luper-compton-verney/
B seems like it should be to do with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_TV_Dante, only that was Inferno rather than Paradiso…
Peter Greenaway appears in the documentary film “Tintoretto – A Rebel in Venice” (2019)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9431134/
A rare double clue?
(Colonel K got ‘Green Card Lottery’ last week, btw)
