Unlike the formidable Friday foxers, the Monday kind are designed with lone truth sleuths in mind. While Roman, my Chief Foxer Setter, would be very interested to know how long it takes you to defox the following brainteaser, he requests that the comments section isn’t used to share solutions or drop hints.
“Where am I?”
Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View (all Solo Foxer solutions are Street Viewable), MAPfrappe, and other online tools, work out my location. The answer will appear under next Monday’s solo foxer.
Today I’m closer to the equator than I am to Kathmandu, and closer to Chicago than I am to Barbados. A few paces from an international border, I’m equilongitudinous with one landlocked country, and equilatitudinous with two. The country you’re seeking has a smaller population than Baghdad, a higher median age than Argentina, and a shorter ‘longest river’ than Japan. Within a 500 metre radius of my location there’s a fire station, a marina, a Chinese restaurant/takeaway, and a “watch, clock, and jewellery repair centre”. Items produced in a nearby building grace museums including the V&A. To reach the nearest national park I’d need to crow-fly due north.
You’re probably in the right place if you can see…
- An ivy-encrusted pine tree
- A streetlamp with a faulty light sensor
- Thatch
- Six white panel vans
- A round bale
- The words “KEOWN IS A TOUT”
I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.
(Last week I was here)
“KEOWN IS A TOUT”, ahoy!
