Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View and tools suc as MAPfrappe, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today you’ll find me in a provincial capital. The province in question has a rodent on its coat of arms and a photograph of a ferris wheel on its Wikipedia page. A three-minute stroll from a statue of a Ukrainian chap and a stone’s throw from a Bell helicopter, I’m in a country that was briefly led by a female head of government during the Nineties. This year the country’s current leader has visited three nations with names beginning with I. Closer to a railway track than a hotel, river, place of worship, or bus stop, I’m equilongitudinous with a runway that is about 11000 feet in length.

You’re probably in the right place if you can see…

  • Rusty nuts
  • Blue shorts
  • A bin for beverage containers
  • Polar bears
  • An Oakley backpack
  • The words “Ouvrir grand”
  • The words “DO NOT CLIMB ON ROCKS”

I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.

(Last week I was here)
