Where am I?

“GeoGuessr for grown-ups.” (Dr. Victor M. Vitharana, Kandy)

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location. Although THC’s chief puzzlewright, Roman, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today you’ll find me a stone’s throw from a railway line, in a country that has a photograph of a bird of prey on its Wikipedia page, pictures of olives on its lowest value banknote, and a capital with a sister city in the NE of England. Less than 100 miles from that capital, I’m 1.4 miles from a tank with a 90mm main gun, and under fifteen miles from the nearest nuclear power plant. You’re looking for a town with a two-word name, and a smaller population than Port Stanley. Both words in the name can be found in an English dictionary.

You’re probably in the right place if you can see…

  • A white RAV4
  • A large postmark
  • Muskets
  • A repdigit road
  • Tentacles
  • Zebra crossings
  • The words “PUBLIC NUDITY”

I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.

(Last week I was here)

  1. This one was fun, even had to bring out the big guns like ArcGIS before it became manageable. Certainly not the first thing that comes to mind related to public nudity.

  2. This one was great! Challenging, but workable, and felt amazing to ultimately drop the first streetview pin within a couple steps from the answer.
