Solo Foxer #35

Unlike the formidable Friday foxers, the Monday kind are designed with lone truth sleuths in mind. While Roman, my Chief Foxer Setter, would be very interested to know how long it takes you to defox the following brainteaser, he requests that the comments section isn’t used to share solutions or drop hints.

“Where am I?”

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, Wikipedia, MAPfrappe and other tools, work out my location. The answer will appear under next Monday’s solo foxer.

Today you’ll find me in a betrammed, coastal city, about 700 metres from a big wheel and 1100 from an open-air theatre. The city’s name starts and ends with the same letter. The street you’re looking for has a three-digit number rather than a name. The digits in question are 0, 1, and 7, although not necessarily in that order. Country clues? Rule out anywhere that doesn’t have a canine national animal, and a geophyte for a national flower. Also ignore any country where same-sex marriage is legal, polygonal coins are in circulation, and the calling code is not divisible by nine.

You’re probably in the right place if you can see…

  • A white Renault Clio
  • Thirteen semicircular balconies
  • A pair of Kangaroo Jumps
  • A sizeable post office
  • More than one treadmill
  • Two escalators

I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.

(Last week I was here)

  1. Escalators to nowhere! Great fun, probably about 25 mins to half an hour for me too. Thanks as always to my mate Excel.

  2. Great location! About 20 mins. (I often can’t complete these and get stuck somewhere but not this week!)
