Friday Foxer #7

Every Friday at 1300 hours, Tally-Ho Corner’s cleverest clogs come together to solve a ‘foxer’ handcrafted by my sadistic chum and colleague, Roman. A complete ‘defoxing’ sometimes takes several days and usually involves the little grey cells of many readers. Don’t be shy. All are welcome to participate.

To fully defox the following geofoxer, identify all twelve locations plus the theme that links them.

  1. J is Chicago, if anyone else feels like taking on the task of finding the L and a 7-eleven in the same place…

  2. I see perhaps a “Ring” theme emerging ?
    Tolkien
    Wagner
    GCHQ (Ring shaped building)
    Circular amphitheatre
    M25

  3. A – Krimsky Bridge Moscow – Garden Ring
B – home of JRR Tolkien – Lord of the Rings
    C –
    D –
    E – Newark Air Museum – ?
F – Gammel Strand – City Circle Line
    G –
    H – M25 – Orbital Motorway
I – Bayreuth Opera House – Ring Cycle
    J – Chicago L – Loop
    K – GCHQ – circular building
    L – Leptis Magna – circular amphitheatre

  4. C looks like part of an enormous circle – everything is a bit curved, as well as having all its insides on show…

  5. I’m stumped as to what kind of building C is.

I did think airport (people queuing for security?) but that doesn’t look right. The old school industrial look suggests a non-modern building.

Lots of people with backpacks – Students? Exhibition centre?

What’s in that blue-hued room in the bottom right corner?

    • looks like IT of some kind. A lot of electrical/ICT and air ducting on all the walls too.

Looks like something has been installed in the middle of the space that the people are queuing up for.

A data centre? A fallout shelter? Vault tech facility maybe?

    • Late to the party, and probably either unhelpful or flat out wrong, but I get this funny feeling that it’s in Japan somewhere. I swear if you zoom in on the flag thingo and squint it kind of looks like there’s some hiragana or katakana in there.

  6. No answer to C but I appreciate going down the google image path of both list of largest accelerators and in what countries are traffic cones with a black square base and 3 white stripes common (the answer seemingly is nowhere…) 🙂
