Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today you’re looking for a location within the USA. Both the state and the city I’m in have names sometimes given to girls. The city also has a TV soap opera and a light cruiser launched in the 1930s named after it. The state you’re after is represented in Washington by two Democratic senators, and has a state bird that looks a lot like a common European species. A stone’s throw from two weighty 18th century weapons and an unusually frank statue inscription, I’m closer to a streetcar track than I am to a church or river. Said track hasn’t seen a streetcar in around a decade. The nearest Starbucks is to the south, the nearest golf course bunker to the NE.

You are probably in the right place if you can see…

  • ferns
  • footbridges
  • four people
  • honeysuckle
  • the profile of an Irish architect
  • a lighthouse
  • a loaded sack truck
  • a black backpack
  • Tillandsia usneoides
  • the words ‘CITY VEHICLES ONLY’

(Last week I was here)
