While Roman, my Chief Foxer Setter, would be very interested to know how long it takes you to defox the following brainteaser, he requests that the comments section isn’t used to share solutions or drop hints.
“Where am I?”
Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View (all Solo Foxer solutions are Street Viewable), MAPfrappe, and other online tools, work out my location. The answer will appear under next Monday’s solo foxer.
Today I’m in a country that has a stormy national anthem, a president who’s under 50, and a national football team that won its first international by a two goal margin. You’ll find me standing next to a bench on which a shirtless sunbather sits. The sunbather’s swimming trunks are drying beside him. The path beneath my feet is three paving slabs wide. 200 metres south of my location is something that looks like a crane jib but isn’t a crane jib (It’s actually something sports-related). About 2000 feet from a Greek Catholic church and 190 metres from a sauna, I’m in a non-capital city that Ryanair fly directly to from London. The city boasts an aircraft museum and a heritage railway, and has hosted IIHF World Championship matches in the 21st Century. Travelling to the closest capital city would involve crossing a border.

Can you clarify the solo foxer spoiler policy, please? I get not commenting on this week’s puzzle while it’s current, but can I grumble now that I hunted all round [other state] and then gave up? 😀
If it’s about last week’s, I say grumble away! I did blitz through that one, albeit with some extremely fortunate googling.
I’d say use *this* week’s post to allow spoilers on *last* week’s. I know when I first found THC I spent some time on the back catalogue of Solo Foxers, so others doing a binge might also prefer comments free of spoilers to the post they are attached to.

This one was quite tough! It took me two days (in two 20 minutes stints) to find the white haired sunbather. I lost a lot of time chasing cities in the wrong country… But I guess that was intentional. Well done Roman! 🙂
