The devs say issues with traffic AI and performance are the main reasons the City Car Driving 2.0 release has been pushed back to November.

G is for Green Tree Games working on British scenarios?

Purchasers of Burden of Command’s first DLC will get to lead soldiers of three different nations. Luke Hughes isn’t willing to disclose which three just yet, but I’d be surprised if Blighty wasn’t one of them. His first dev vlog also contains encouraging news for Teutonic gamers (Swastikas mean Burden of Command isn’t currently available in Germany) and tantalising hints on BoC’s possible long-term direction: “We think the combat model… applies from about the end of World War One to the Vietnam War. Of course I’m very interested in Vietnam War for Burden of Command. Personally I’d love to do the Korean War. Spanish Civil War interests me.”

H is for Hybrid wargaming

The above video contains some fascinating glimpses of the current iteration of MASA SWORD, a French-made, Bohemia Interactive-distributed Command Ops-style turnless wargame used for training tactical level land staffs in numerous NATO countries. As MASA has resisted the urge to spin-off a recreational version of SWORD for fifteen years, it’s unlikely us civilian wargamers will ever get the chance to experience the sim’s “intelligent automation” first hand.

I is for I feel guilty for enjoying the Shoot to Kill demo

I could pretend I’m planning to replay the Shoot to Kill demo for the atmosphere and level design, but the truth is I’ll be returning primarily for more of this promising FPS’s over-the-top violence.

In the first Inspector Schmidt game, German actors delivered the dialogue in the English language version. In the recently released Inspector Schmidt – The Ebbing, Active Fungus has, for some reason, chosen to use US voice talent for many key characters. The geographical mismatch looks somewhat distracting, but tempted by the Baskervillian mood, the mention of telegraphy, and the detective RPG’s ‘very positive’ Steam reception, I’m tempted to pay a visit to Havstedt.
