Commandos: Origins’ first day in ‘enemy territory’ could have gone better. Slathered with ineffective bug repellent, encumbered by a pretty hefty price-tag, and lacking useful kit like rucksacks and D-IX pills, Commandos-4-in-all-but-name has found the past 24 hours a trifle trying.
If the CO buzz had been more positive, and I wasn’t currently mid-way through the most memorable PC wargame campaign I’ve ever played, I’d be keen to find out whether Claymore’s debut deserved a ‘mixed’ Steam reception and launch day leatherings like this one. As things stand, unless Captain Stone takes an unplanned dirt-nap or has a debilitating mental breakdown in the next few days, or Nickel Company arrive in Berchtesgaden far sooner than anticipated, it will probably be at least a week before I hook up with Tiny and chums.
