Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today you’ll find me on a road with a 30 mph speed limit. Less than 500 feet from a war memorial, a fire station, and a bus stop, and roughly 4 kilometres from an unusual penitentiary, I could stroll to the local supermarket in less than four minutes. A nearby tourist attraction featured in a fairly recent chart-topping video game. If I wanted to crow-fly to the closest asphalt runway (the runway in question was constructed in the 1970s) I’d need to flap SSE. In a couple of days’ time, a local farmer will swap his tractor for a **** and oversee an unusual livestock movement.

You are probably in the right place if you can see…

  • A goal
  • A grit bin
  • Tines
  • Lambs
  • Ewe Gold
  • Black polythene
  • Solar panels
  • A watercourse
  • A building designed by Thomas Telford
  • The words ‘VOTE Calum Munro’
  • No road markings

(Last week I was here)

  1. I looked around this morning, but I was a little off track. I picked it up this evening and was quite quick at zeroing in. I think I spent about 30 minutes this morning, and about 20 minutes this evening before I got there.
