Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today, you’ll find me standing close to a white Powerstar 2628 on an ‘R’ road. The road has a three digit number. The sum of the three digits is fifteen. Around 140 kilometres from Dundee, I’m in a country that has a long-legged bird on its coat of arms, and photos of a Saab warbird and a custard tart on its Wikipedia page. The closest foreign country has a population of around one and a quarter million people, and changed its name less than a decade ago. Closer to the nearest helipad than I am to the nearest police station or school, I’m in a town that boasts multiple palaces.

You are probably in the right place if you can see…

  • Kids
  • Kids
  • A cockerel
  • A crocodile
  • A pilchard
  • A treestump
  • Minibuses
  • A hilltop pharmacy
  • A hospital with around 360 beds
  • The words ‘waya waya’

(Last week I was here)

  1. Just over 30 minutes this week between the two of us in tandem. Weird how some things seem “obvious” to one but not the other.

Last week, where the heck was “A water tower”? We can see a white cylinder near the brick tower but only from a different angle. What are we seeing but not recognising?

      • Well I am not permitted to swear but please insert some Asterix the Gaul symbols. I saw that thing but couldnt find it on the map or travelling along the roads so I thought it was a rooftop item that appeared in a photo taken at one time but not similar locations at another time. Thank you for that!
