Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, MapFrappe and other tools, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today I’m on a road Street Viewed in June last year. The road has no road markings, and is in a city with leporine origins*, a larger population than Miami, and a name that includes no letters from the second half of the alphabet. Around fifty metres from a butcher’s shop/stall, two hundred metres from an electrified railway line, and sixteen miles from a lifesize Stegosaurus, I’m roughly SSE of a large perfectly circular lake that was completed in the 15th Century. The closest hotel has a floral name. The country you are seeking won the last cricket test match it participated in. Said test was played in a riverside stadium over 8355 miles from my location.

* Reputedly

You’re probably in the right place if you can see…

  • Concrete
  • Open beaks
  • Octopoid trainers
  • Informal housing
  • Formal housing
  • A heap of sand
  • Three-wheeled vehicles
  • A large gate topped with spikes
  • A short-back-and-sides
  • A barbed-wire clothes line
  • The number ‘160’

I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.

(Last week I was here)

  1. Well, I *think* I’m in the right place as I can see most of the elements, but several of them elude me (especially the “octopoid trainers” and the “open beaks”)
Reasonably quick (10 mins?) to identify the city, but have spent close to an hour on and off roaming the streets.

    • Octopoid trainers ahoy! I manged to keep the roaming to a minimum this week but I think the spoiler rules prevent saying anything more.

      Thanks Roman.
