Every Friday at 1300 hours, Tally-Ho Corner’s cleverest clogs come together to solve a ‘foxer’ handcrafted by my sadistic chum and colleague, Roman. A complete ‘defoxing’ sometimes takes several days and usually involves the little grey cells of many readers. Don’t be shy. All are welcome to participate.
The honeycomb below is a fancy form of wordsearch in which every cell is used, and words can curl and zigzag but never overlap. Each hive foxer has a theme (some past ones: owls, rugby, Egypt, UFOs…). Identifying the theme is a vital part of the defoxing process. Today’s puzzle is composed of 15 answers.

Nutfield with a partial answer first off.
The highlighted letters spell KAL EL, and it’s J9. MAN OF STEEL.
I presume, then, that the topic is Superman.
i9. KRYPTON.
A3. GEORGE REEVES (another Nutfield partial; still might be Ironic)
E6. ACTION COMICS killed irony
ETA: I can’t see Lois of Lois Lane; I’ve got D10. LEX but no Luthor
D5. FORTRESS OF SOLITUDE
C4. (Mister) MXYZPTLK
It would look like D7. LANA LANG (love interest of Superman’s in his teen years), but at the moment the N of Lana is being taken by Krypton; so it’s possible the Krypton was herring-scented.
i9. is just KRYPTO, Superman’s pet dog
I have solved the bottom and left to my satisfaction; a couple of answers did need looking up to see how they relate. Still stymied by the mid-right, though.
G11 -BIZARRO, the mirror image of Superman.
This leaves LEXEK, or LEX and EK (or KE) in that corner. Nearest I could find was Nam-Ek.
[edit] It’s KELEX!
Superman’s tissues?
Sadly, just a robot servant

G1 – RED SON. Recent animated film.
M5 – THE KISS CURL
L7 – CAPE.
K8 – JOR EL.
By my reckoning, it’s just Kiss Curl;
M5. THE belongs to another answer.
K1. CURSE
M5. THE BIG APRICOT aka Metropolis
