Solo Foxer #111

Unlike the formidable Friday foxers, the Monday kind are designed with lone truth sleuths in mind. While Roman, my Chief Foxer Setter, would be very interested to know how long it takes you to defox today’s brainteaser, he requests that the comments section isn’t used to share solutions or drop hints.

“Where am I?”

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View (all Solo Foxer solutions are Street Viewable), MAPfrappe, and other online tools, work out my location. The answer will appear under next Monday’s solo foxer.

Today I’m in a town where the earthquake risk is ‘medium’. You can find the name of the town in the credits for Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Within a 500 metre radius of my location there’s a skatepark, a distillery, an outdoor swimming pool, and a Catholic church. Around 1.5 kilometres away from my location is a very rare biplane. In order to reach the the closest railway line, I’d need to crow-fly ESE for around four miles. A crow flap to the closest UNESCO World Heritage site would take around fifty times longer. The country you’re searching for has a smaller population than Hyderabad, fewer prisoners than Belgium, fifty percent more consonants in its name than vowels, and is equilatitudinous with only one country without a celestial body on its flag.

You’re probably in the right place if you can see…

  • Stuart
  • Gabions
  • Glitter balls
  • A black and white cat
  • An Indian restaurant
  • A supermarket
  • A hardware store
  • A yellow Suzuki Swift Sport
  • The words “GIVE WAY”

I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.

(Last week I was here)

  1. Glitter balls, ahoy!

A tough one for me, eventually solved with the help of Excel. Even when I found what I was sure was the correct street it took ages to find the right spot.

    Thanks Roman.
