Solo Foxer #68

Unlike the formidable Friday foxers, the Monday kind are designed with lone truth sleuths in mind. While Roman, my Chief Foxer Setter, would be very interested to know how long it takes you to defox today’s brainteaser, he requests that the comments section isn’t used to share solutions or drop hints.

“Where am I?”

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View (all Solo Foxer solutions are Street Viewable), MAPfrappe, and other online tools, work out my location. The answer will appear under next Monday’s solo foxer.

Today, I’m on a narrow road, a few paces from a small gym that has seen better days. SSE of a sizeable rectangular pond, I’m about a kilometre from the closest fire station. In a country that has a female PM and something significant in common with Japan, I’m equilatitudinous with one US state, and a city that hosted a Formula One GP in 2021. If I was to crow-fly to the nearest airport terminal, around half of my 4.6 mile flight would be over water. The closest foreign country is twenty miles distant and was admitted to the UN later than Costa Rica.

You’re probably in the right place if you can see…

  • Two cycle rickshaws
  • FC Barcelona’s crest
  • The word ‘fast’
  • An abundance of snacks
  • Lots of wriggly tin
  • No cars
  • An unusual two-pronged tool poised for use

I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.

(Last week I was here.)
