Unlike the formidable Friday foxers, the Monday kind are designed with lone truth sleuths in mind. While Roman, my Chief Foxer Setter, would be very interested to know how long it takes you to defox today’s brainteaser, he requests that the comments section isn’t used to share solutions or drop hints.
“Where am I?”
Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View (all Solo Foxer solutions are Street Viewable), MAPfrappe, and other online tools, work out my location. The answer will appear under next Monday’s solo foxer.
Today I’m in a city that was occupied by Axis forces for 44 months during WW2. About 3.75 kilometres from an eye-catching s-shaped bridge and two miles from a seriously feline statue, I’m equilatitudinous with one of Africa’s most rectangular countries, and a blood-drenched triangular coral reef. Within a kilometre of my location there’s a wet market, a sewage treatment plant, and a roundabout with a boat in its centre. The sizeable river I’m both due north and due south of, shares a name with the state I’m in.
You’re probably in the right place if you can see…
- A dog
- An orange forklift truck
- Eight unpicked papayas
- Dozens of reef balls
- The word ‘Belacan’
I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.
(Last week I was here)
I’ve sailed the seven seas to find this place.
Whoa, good one – got it narrowed down pretty quickly, but then took me a bit of brute force wandering to find the specific spot!
Papayas, ahoy! That one took me a while, I resorted to drawing circles on the map!
