Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today I’m in the capital city of the Republic of *****. Said republic has no green, yellow, or black on its flag, and has a won an Olympic medal in baseball. The father of its current president died in an industrial accident in the early 1960s. The nearest underground station to my location is roughly 270 metres away, and is on a blue metro line and a yellow metro line. About 400 metres from a repurposed winery, and 660 from a museum filled with wonderful dioramas, I’m within 750 metres of two Hindu temples.

You are probably in the right place if you can see…

  • mud
  • multicoloured magnets
  • Mexican petunias
  • a fox
  • outdoor exercise equipment
  • yellow taxis
  • red kerbstones
  • university students
  • an elevated expressway completed in 1997
  • a shop that sells vases
  • the words ‘WORLD MASTERS GAMES’

(Last week I was here)
