Unlike the formidable Friday foxers, the Monday kind are designed with lone truth sleuths in mind. While Roman, my Chief Foxer Setter, would be very interested to know how long it takes you to defox the following brainteaser, he requests that the comments section isn’t used to share solutions or drop hints.
“Where am I?”
Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View (all Solo Foxer solutions are Street Viewable), MAPfrappe, and other online tools, work out my location. The answer will appear under next Monday’s solo foxer.
Today I’m 3796 metres above sea level, standing beside a diabolical mosaic, in a country that, unlike all of its neighbours, has never won an Olympic medal. That country is named after a man born 1967 miles from my location. Just over a kilometre away is a lighthouse. The nearest zoo is closer than the nearest railway station. Equilatitudinous with a small island country that has both a big cat and a non-citrus fruit on its flag, I’m in a city that would appear as two identical adjacent letters in a ‘missing vowels’ foxer.
You’re probably in the right place if you can see…
- A ‘winding road ‘ sign
- A roadside barrier made of wriggly tin
- Rubble in the road
- A clay tennis court
- A silver Toyota Something with a roof box
- A huge statue of a famous woman
- A reflection of a huge statue of a famous woman
- “2015-2020”
- For miles and miles
I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.
(Last week I was here)
Got it… thanks for taking me to another interesting place
Same, it took me a while to find the reflection of the huge woman, but I got it! These solo foxers are always a great way to learn about locations that are not Pont-à-Mousson.
Fun one, so many places Ive never heard of that are packed, going to fly around here in msfs2020 seems like fun.
Fourth generation Toyota RAV4 before the facelift.
Thanks for getting that song by The Who stuck in my head.
