Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today I’m roughly 583 metres ASL, in a city that has a population of approximately 39,000. Chances are you’ve heard or read the name of this city before. The city is in a country that has a photo of an oasis on its Wikipedia page, and no blue, yellow, or green on its flag. A stone’s throw from a river, about 1.3 kilometres from an archaeological museum, and 540 metres from a police station, today’s location is in a region that boasts two national reserves. The region’s name can be found within one of the words used in this paragraph.

You are probably in the right place if you can see…

  • A spider
  • A dog
  • An elephant
  • A pelican
  • Sea lions
  • Dolphins
  • Bamboo
  • A Daewoo Tico
  • Outdoor exercise equipment
  • The word ‘PARE’
  • The word ‘SUDADO’
  • The word ‘CEVICHE’

(Last week I was here)
