Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today I’m on a street that’s approximately 880 metres long. The street is in a capital city that has an extinct bird on its coat of arms. The city is in a country that played its last football international in North America, and its last men’s hockey international nine days ago. Due south of the nearest planetarium, I’m roughly 1.3 kilometres from an unusual crane, 1.3 miles from the nearest railway terminus, and 1.12 kilometres from the nearest fire station.

You are probably in the right place if you can see…

  • A faded zebra crossing
  • A Secret Life of Walter Mitty DVD
  • A small brewery
  • An IMPORTANT NOTICE
  • A smiling chicken
  • Illuminated light bulbs
  • A hill with a cinematic claim to fame
  • A street that shares a name with an English county
  • The words ‘bigger than a bee’
  • The words ‘AIM HIGH AND BREATHE EASY’
