Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.

Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.

Today, you’re looking for a spot that has changed a lot since it was snapped by the Street View car in November 2008. The spot is in a city that shares a twin with Ternopil and has a name that translates as ‘pretty s**’. The city is in a country that exports considerable quantities of refined petroleum, car parts, and pig meat, and has a pink animal on its national flag. Closer to a synagogue than a church, and closer to a school than a fire or police station, I’m a stone’s throw from a four-lane highway that shares a two-character alpha-numeric identifier with a military aircraft that saw action during the Vietnam War.

You are probably in the right place if you can see…

  • Sunshine
  • Slides
  • Surf
  • Palm trees
  • Five Coca-Cola cans
  • Evidence of this area’s industrial past
  • A pit lane
  • Floodlights
  • No people
  • Tyres filled with concrete
  • A huge ‘seashell’
  • The word ‘FUNNY’
  • The word ‘SIMULACION’

(Last week I was here)
