Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.
Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.
Today I’m in an English village inhabited by around 2500 people. You’ll find the name of this village in Jane Austen’s Emma, and in most English supermarkets. The local MP was born in the 21st Century. Less than two miles away is an airfield that was home to USAAF B-17s during WW2. From the mid 19th Century to the late Fifties, the closest railway station to my location was a short walk from said airfield. Roughly 320 metres from a large chessboard, 550 metres from a skate park, and 9.5 kilometres from a very unusual rail vehicle, I’m in a ‘close’ that isn’t a cul-de-sac. Time Team visited this village in a year the British Grand Prix was won by a Nordic driver.
You are probably in the right place if you can see…
- A palm tree
- A quad bike
- A Union Jack
- A Ford Zodiac
- A fifth wheel
- A cat
- A bus shelter
- A vacuum cleaner
- The words ‘Built in Britain’
(Last week I was here)
Cat ahoy! found in about 15 minutes, I overlooked some pretty obvious clues to find the village…
Zodiac ho! About 15 minutes for me too.
