Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View, work out my location.
Although Roman, THC’s chief puzzlewright, would be interested to know how long it takes you to solve this solo foxer, he’d rather you didn’t put spoilers or solutions in the comments.
Today I’m in the same country I was in last week. Standing on a very quiet road with an ecclesiastical name, I’m less than 1.5 miles south of a state line that separates states that are adjacent in both a physical and alphabetical sense. You won’t find the state I’m in in a list of American Truck Simulator DLC, but you will find it mentioned in passing in Catcher in the Rye. The county you are searching for is ‘wet’ and named after a US president who was in office for the same length of time as his predecessor and successor. The nearest Interstate to my location is roughly 21 kilometres away and is even-numbered. The closest railway is approximately 3.75 kilometres WbN of my position, and is part of a shortline railroad about 300 miles in length.
You are probably in the right place if you can see…
- A tricycle
- A mailbox adorned with a tractor
- A lake
- Old Glory
- A refrigerator on a sack truck
- Windthrown trees, one of which has been delimbed fairly recently
- An empty car port
- A white pick-up
- Yellow road markings
- No people
- Tillandsia usneoides
- The word ‘BLACKOUT’
(Last week I was here)
A tricycle ahoy! About 40 minutes, most of which was due to my misunderstanding the technicalities of the Interstate.
