Seven quid buys a prodigious quantity of gripping guerre at Fanatical.com right now. Using the site’s Build Your Own Special Editions Bundle option, you can snag Field of Glory II Complete, plus a fully-DLCed copy of Fantasy General II, for a combined price of £6.99. Purchasing the same pair through Steam today would set you back £171.
A fan of the original Fantasy General, I approached the belated 3D sequel somewhat warily. While my fears about legibility and visual charm proved fairly well-founded, I was pleasantly surprised by almost every other aspect of Slitherine’s 2019 release.
You can’t go wrong with the marvellous Field of Glory 2. The writer of this old RPS piece was dead right when he observed that “Richard Bodley Scott simulates battlefield chaos masterfully” and FoGII “produces gripping battle after gripping battle”.
Fantasy General II, FoG II complete, and Concordia complete, a $270 value for $10.
Also they have Command Modern Ops @ £27.43 and all of its DLC for£19.99 for a total of £47.42, which seems like a really good deal for all that content, and reminds me of Harpoon modernised.
However I’ve always been put off by the apparent complexity of the game. Can anyone who has it recommend or otherwise?
It’s missing the Command Live episodes.
