Where am I? (FdO1)

On the trail of the fabulous Fox d’Or? For reasons that will become clear in coming weeks, identifying the next few “Where am I?” locations will help you in your search.

(No spoilers or solutions in the comments, please. The map in the title image isn’t a clue.)

Today’s Street Viewable location is roughly two kilometres from the nearest EFL Championship football ground, 1.5 km from the nearest baseball field, and 6.5 miles from the nearest national park. The closest heritage railway line lies to the NEbE, is about two kilometres in length, and is home to a Class 31 diesel loco. The spot you are seeking is in a constituency that didn’t exist twenty years ago. Said constituency was contested by the Brexit Party in the 2019 general election, and is currently represented in Parliament by a male MP who sits on the opposition benches. You should finish-up in a county that has never birthed a British Prime Minister (interestingly, none of the neighbouring counties seem to have produced a PM either) on a street that shares a name with a Seventies horror flick.

You are probably in the right place if you can see…

  • A robot
  • A raccoon
  • At least six skulls
  • Syringes
  • Blooming butterfly bushes
  • Scaffolding galore
  • A roundabout
  • A ship capable of carrying over 2400 passengers
  • Multiple Salvador Dalis
  • An imposing Victorian hotel
  • The word ‘mercury’
  • The number ‘118’

(Last week I was here)

  1. Tim, will these FdOs have their locations revealed after a week?

I can’t figure out the street for this one – am confident about the county, constituency, football ground, baseball ground, and heritage railway.

  2. Steam Next Fest demos that may be of interest:

    ‘Old School Rally’

Slitherine’s turn-based egg-beating sim: ‘Scramble’! (-‘Battle of Britain’)

    mandated boomer shooter: presumably ‘Morn’

(Previous comment with some links “is awaiting moderation.”)

    • As it happens, tomorrow’s feature will be a Demo Disc featuring both Scramble and Old School Rally. Good guess on the mandatory retro shooter, but I went with a superior/older demo in the end.
