Where am I?

Using the following clues (the map above is purely decorative) in combination with Street View and tools such as MAPfrappe, work out my location.

Today you’ll find me less than 500 metres from a swing bridge, in a county that has a female lord-lieutenant. Said LL has been in office for less than a year. The town I’m in has the same four digits in its dialing code as Darlington. Its football club competes in the third tier of English football, and has two Africans on its books. The nearest pub has a name that’s extremely common in England, and a sign visible from my location.

You are probably in the right place if you can also see…

  • four anchors
  • two packets of Skittles
  • a scorpion
  • the flag of Finland
  • the flag of Russia
  • the flag of Bulgaria
  • the transgender flag
  • catenary
  • a trawler
  • a red Mark I Ford Escort
  • a PlayStation logo
  • LNER P2 No. 2001, Cock o’ the North
  • a yellow Brush railcoach
  • the words ‘FUN FAIR’
  • the word ‘CHAMPAGNE’
  • the number ‘872’

I’m not in Pont-à-Mousson.

(Last week I was here)

  1. Enjoyably straightforward this week. I thought I might make the ten minute club but was undone by Streetview.
